This 5 Days Safari offers a great opportunity to combine Gorilla tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park ( home to half of the world’s mountain gorillas) with Chimpanzee trekking or Habituation experience in Kibale National Park.     Day 1

    Arrival & Transfer to Kibale National Park

    Kibale National Park

    You will be picked by our guide at 7:00am from Kampala and embark on your journey to the famous ‘Kibale National Park. The park covers an area of about 1978 km2 and the park has one of the highest biodiversity ratings of any national park in the world as it is well known to be the habitat of about 95 mammals along with 612 species of birds. You will briefly stop in Fort portal for lunch, as you proceed to Kibale National Park where you can do an optional evening game drive depending on the time that you will reach. The journey takes 5-6 hours.

    Chimpanzee Tracking and Bigoda Swamp Walk

    Kibale National Park

    After breakfast at your lodge, transfer to the starting point of your Chimpanzee tracking for the experience in Kibale Forest National Park which is reputed to have the greatest variety and highest concentration of primates in East Africa. The most famous of its 13 species is the Chimpanzee, man’s closest relative. After lunch, head to Bigodi for a swamp walk. Bigodi was established by a local development organization to protect the 4sq-km Magombe Swamp that’s home to around 200 species of birds (highlights include papyrus gonolek, white-winged warbler and great blue turaco). The highlight of this tour is catching a glimpse of the great blue turaco. The swamp is also good for spotting butterflies and primates, with 8 different species here, including grey-cheeked Mangabey. The 2-3 hour guided walk is led by knowledgeable and experienced local guides who make the trip educative but also enjoyable, exciting.

    Morning game drive and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable NP

    Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

    After early breakfast, you will catch up with the early risers as your driver takes you to Rushaga within the famous Bwindi impenetrable National park. This park is mostly famous for the rare mountain gorillas and the drive to the park is incredibly scenic, passing through various local villages and the lush green countryside & hills which characterize so much of south western Uganda. Once you are in the forest park, it is one of the richest ecosystems in Africa and the diversity of species is a feature of the park. It provides habitat for some 120 species of mammals, 348 species of birds. Arriving at your lodge for dinner and overnight.

    Day 4 Gorilla Tracking and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

    Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

    After your breakfast, along with your packed lunch, you will report to the park premises for registration by 8:00am and be briefed by Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger guides. You will then start to trek through the bumpy bushes in search of the amazing gorillas. There is also a greater opportunity of seeing other species like the birds, monkeys, chimpanzees, beautiful butterflies among others. The trek could take 1-8 hours and it is a really an exciting experience watching them protest or playing with each other and it's really a special moment being with these fabulous human-like primates. The time allowed to be with these gorillas in Uganda is 1 hour and every minute of the experience is worth the time you spent in search for them. As you retire from the forest, then transfer to lake Bunyonyi , the place of many little birds, and for relaxation at the lodge. Lake Bunyonyi is popular for its green and lush terraced hills and many islands that you could admire all day.

    Transfer back to Kampala with stopover at the Equator

    Green Equator Masaka Rd

    Today is the last day of your trip! After your breakfast, begin your journey back to Kampala as you view beautiful sceneries along the way. You will have lunch on route thereafter and have another stop over at the equator for the water experiment and kodak moments. If you happen to have missed it on the 1st day of your trip. Proceed with the journey, your driver will drop you at your accommodation in Kampala or Entebbe. The journey takes 7-8 hours. Thank you for choosing our company!
