Begin in lively Argostoli, where you can stroll the harbor promenade, browse shops, enjoy a coffee, and spot sea turtles near the pier. Then, travel through scenic countryside to one or two local wineries (based on availability) to sample signature varietals like Robola and learn about the island’s volcanic terroir and winemaking heritage. Your experience ends at Palaia Vlachata, an abandoned village left in ruins after the 1953 earthquake. Now overgrown and silent, the village offers haunting beauty and sweeping views of mountains and sea. This unique mix of flavors, scenery, and history gives you a richer understanding of Kefalonia’s culture and resilience. Afterward, your driver returns you to your accommodation—refreshed, inspired, and filled with local insight.
