Pickup from your accommodation or Souda port. Your private guide and driver will meet you at your hotel, villa, or directly at the cruise ship port. Travel in comfort in an air-conditioned vehicle as your guide introduces you to the cultural and historical context of western Crete.
Visit to Agia Triada Monastery & Wine Tasting (approx. 1 hour). Arriving in the tranquil Akrotiri Peninsula, you’ll explore the Agia Triada Tzagarolon Monastery, one of the most important religious landmarks of Crete. Built in the 17th century by Venetian-Cretan monks, the monastery showcases impressive architecture with Renaissance and Orthodox influences. Inside the serene complex, you’ll see: The main cathedral with frescoes and a marble iconostasis A charming inner courtyard and old olive press A small museum with religious artifacts After the visit, you’ll be welcomed into the monastery’s wine cellar and shop for an authentic tasting. Venizelos Graves & Panoramic Viewpoint (20–30 minutes). Next, you’ll stop at Venizelos Graves, located on a pine-covered hill overlooking Chania. This is the resting place of Eleftherios Venizelos and his son Sofoklis — two of Greece’s most influential political leaders. Besides the historical importance, this site offers: • Breathtaking panoramic views of Chania and the White Mountains • A moment of reflection in a tranquil garden • Optional coffee stop at a nearby café with a view (if desired)
Chania Old Town Guided Walk (approx. 1 hour). You’ll arrive in the heart of Chania Old Town, a maze of colorful alleys that reflect centuries of history — from the Minoans and Venetians to the Ottomans and modern Greeks. Your private guide will take you through: • Venetian Harbor and its iconic lighthouse • The Firka Fortress and Old Arsenal buildings • Jewish Quarter (Evraiki) and Ottoman hammams • The Agora market or Municipal Market (currently under restoration — optional) You’ll learn about the architecture, stories of occupation and resistance, and modern life in the most romantic town of Crete.
