At 9:30 AM, your guide will meet you at the airport or your hotel in Iquitos. You'll be taken to the local office and then head to the port to board a speedboat toward your lodge in the Yanamono Reserve. On the way, enjoy the sight of the "Wedding of the Rivers"—where the Nanay and Amazon Rivers meet—and stop at Monkey Island, a sanctuary for rescued monkeys. Upon arrival at Heliconia Lodge, you’ll be welcomed with a fresh juice and check into your room. After lunch, set off on a guided jungle hike, spotting tropical plants, birds, and possibly monkeys. In the late afternoon, enjoy free time—relax by the pool or in a hammock overlooking the river. After dark, embark on a night boat ride along a tributary of the Amazon, with the chance to see shooting stars. Return to the lodge for dinner and a restful night in the heart of the jungle.

Heliconia Amazon River Lodge
The day begins at sunrise with a birdwatching tour led by a local expert. You’ll spot species like the Tuki, Ringed Kingfisher, and the Black-Collared Hawk, among others. Afterward, return to the lodge for a hearty breakfast. Next, visit the Yagua Indigenous Community, where you'll learn about their ancestral customs and traditions. You’ll even get to try the “pucuna” (blowgun), used in traditional hunting. After lunch and a short rest at the lodge, head out for an artisanal fishing expedition, where you'll learn local techniques and possibly catch piranhas. Keep an eye out for the rare and beautiful pink river dolphins, often seen during this excursion. In the evening, after dinner, enjoy a guided night walk through the jungle. Discover the nocturnal life of the Amazon as the forest comes alive with insects, frogs, and night birds. Return to the lodge for a peaceful night surrounded by the sounds of the rainforest.

Explore its unique flooded forest ecosystem, where trees like aguajes and renacos grow with exposed roots, and aquatic plants seem to float above the water. Start your final day with a canoe adventure on the legendary Amazon River. After the activity, return to the lodge for lunch and to collect your luggage. At 1:30 PM, board the speedboat back to Iquitos with your guide. You can choose to be dropped off at your hotel or directly at the airport. You’ll leave with your heart full of unforgettable moments and the spirit of the Amazon with you.
