This nr.1 attraction in Stockholm with 1,5 million visitors per year is truly a “must see”. This warship capsized and sank in 1628, and was salvaged in 1961. The ship had space for 450 men, and is bigger that most visiters have expected. Built from oak, and 98% intact there is nothing like her anywhere in the world. We will get you priority access so you don´t have to wait more than a few minutes in line, where the waiting in other cases can take 1-2 hours. The Cathedral from 1279 has been Lutheran since1527 and here you can see some unique objects like the sculpture of St George and the Dragon from 1489 and Vädersolstavlan from 1535.
The Royal Palace from 1754 is located in the Old Town and is one of the largest palaces in Europe with more than 1400 rooms. It is still in use by the Royal family, but they don´t live here anymore. Every day the Changing of the guards take place outside the Palace around noon. It is possible to visit the Royal apartments and several of it´s museums.
This is Stockholm´s most famous building, well known for hosting the Nobel Banquette every year in December. This is also the municipal political building of the city and has some of the most interesting architecture from the beginning of the former century. Most spectacular is probably the Golden Hall which is dressed with more than 18 million pieces of golden mosaic. Also from outside it is an impressive building with it´s 106 meter tall clocktower and beautiful garden by the lake Mälaren.
The Concert Hall is located by the Haymarket and dates back from 1926. Outside the entrance you can find several sculptures by Carl Milles. The buildning is shown to the world every year on the 10th of December when the Nobel Prize ceremony is held here.
This is Swedens National theatre and was one of the most costly building to be constructed in it´s time. It was opened in 1908, built in Jugend Style and is a piece of art that really stads out from all other buildings in the city.
This island is often referred to as "the green island" or the museum island. The Vasa museum, the Nordic museum and the ABBA museum are all located here, as well as several art exhibitions, like the famous Prins Eugens Waldermarsudde. We will also see the amusement park Gröna Lund and Skansen open air museum.
This is probably the best high viewpoint in the city. From here you can see most of the city and the ports of many of the cruise ships, the island Djurgården and the roofs and steeples of several old churches. If you are going to take ONE picture of Stockholm, take it here !
This bridge from 1935 takes us from the Södermalm island to Kungholmen and it is more than 600 meters. Västerbron is the longest bridge of the city and has a great view to offer.
