You will be picked up from your location in Aswan (airport, hotel, or train station) to begin your visit to Philae Temple Island. Enjoy a scenic round-trip motorboat ride to Agilkia Island, beautifully set on the Nile. The island is home to several temples dating back to the Pharaonic, Greek, and Roman periods, the most prominent being the Temple of Isis, dedicated to the mother of Horus, the falcon-headed god.
Continue by motorboat to Philae Temple Island, a breathtaking temple complex dedicated to the goddess Isis, carefully relocated to its present site following the construction of the High Dam. Explore the beautifully preserved temples before enjoying a scenic motorboat ride to Agilkia Island, set amidst the tranquil waters of the Nile. The island features several monuments dating to the Pharaonic, Greek, and Roman periods, including the grand Temple of Isis, devoted to Isis, mother of Horus, the falcon-headed god. Following your visits, you will be transferred to embark on your Dahabiya Nile Cruise. An optional excursion is available this morning to visit the famous Abu Simbel Temples, located 280 km south of Aswan. These magnificent temples were built by Ramses II and stand today as one of Egypt’s most remarkable UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Enjoy lunch on board the Dahabiya before beginning a leisurely sail along the Nile. Admire the striking scenery where deep blue waters meet lush green palms and golden desert dunes, creating an unforgettable panorama. Upon arrival at Kom Ombo, visit the remarkable Kom Ombo Temple, uniquely dedicated to two deities: Sobek, the crocodile god, and Haroeris (Horus the Elder). Explore its distinctive symmetrical layout with twin entrances and sanctuaries, as well as the nearby Crocodile Museum showcasing mummified crocodiles. Dinner and overnight on board near Kom Ombo.
After breakfast, sail peacefully toward Edfu, enjoying views of traditional Nile life along the riverbanks, where fishermen, farmers, and small villages reflect the timeless rhythm of rural Egypt. Upon arrival, transfer by horse-drawn carriage to visit the Temple of Horus at Edfu, one of Egypt’s best-preserved ancient temples, renowned for its monumental pylons and finely carved reliefs illustrating sacred rituals. Return to the Dahabiya for lunch on board, then continue sailing toward Esna. The boat will anchor for the night, offering a tranquil evening beneath the stars. Dinner and overnight on board at Esna.
After breakfast, disembark from your Dahabiya and transfer by private air-conditioned vehicle to Luxor (approximately 1 hour). Upon arrival, begin your visit to the magnificent Karnak Temple. Stroll along the Avenue of Sphinxes leading to the entrance of the largest religious complex in Egypt, dedicated to Amun-Re, the chief deity of ancient Thebes. Explore the vast site with your guide, who will explain the rich history of Karnak, including its pylons, courts, Great Hypostyle Hall, obelisks, and sacred sanctuary.
Proceed to the Valley of the Kings, the renowned royal burial ground of ancient Thebes (Luxor), used for nearly 500 years during Egypt’s New Kingdom (c. 1550–1080 BC). Visit three beautifully decorated tombs of some of Egypt’s most famous pharaohs. Optional visits to additional tombs, including Tutankhamun and Seti I, are available with extra tickets purchased on site.
Drive to Deir el-Bahari to visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, one of Egypt’s most impressive monuments. This unique temple features three successive terraces, beautifully set against the cliffs of Al-Qurna Mountain on the West Bank of Luxor.
Conclude your visit with the iconic Colossi of Memnon, the sole remnants of King Amenhotep III’s funerary temple (1386–1349 BC). After exploring these ancient monuments, you will be transferred to your Luxor hotel, airport, or train station for your onward journey.
