  Acropolis

  The Acropolis is one of the world’s most iconic archaeological sites in the world, perched above the city center of Athens. It houses the remains of several historic buildings, with the Parthenon standing as the most renowned. Guests will have 1 hour of free time to explore the Acropolis on their own, as the guide will not enter the site. Those who prefer not to visit the Acropolis, they will be able to visit two nearby attractions located just a few steps away, the Areopagus Hill and the Herodion Theater. The guide will accompany visitors to these sites, providing the perfect opportunity to capture stunning photographs of the iconic Acropolis from afar. PLEASE NOTE that the Acropolis features steps, uneven surfaces, and uphill paths, so a moderate level of walking is required.

It’s an elegant building with neoclassical architecture surrounded by the famous Presidential Guards, the Evzones, where you will have the opportunity to witness the iconic Changing of the Guards ceremony (if time permits). Take a 15-minute stop to relax under the shade of the lush greenery of the National Garden of Athens, while enjoying the surroundings and taking photos with the guards.

  Your final stop will be at the historic neighborhoods of Monastiraki & Plaka, located in the heart of Athens. You will have approximately 1 hour of free time to explore the areas on foot. Stroll around the picturesque alleys and charming narrow streets, discover local boutiques and souvenir shops, enjoy a delicious Greek meal at a traditional taverna, or simply soak in the atmosphere of two of Athens’ most vibrant neighborhoods.
