The pick-up location for your tour depends on the option you choose. The day before the tour (in the afternoon around 3pm), you will receive the exact pickup time from the agreed location. Pick-ups take place daily between 8.30 and 9.00. In a situation where access by vehicle is prohibited or difficult, the nearest meeting point will be designated up to 5 minutes walk.
Your day begins with a convenient pickup directly from your hotel, apartment, or designated meeting point in Krakow. If access to your accommodation is limited due to traffic restrictions or pedestrian zones, your driver will arrange pickup from the nearest possible location. Sit back and enjoy a comfortable journey through the picturesque countryside of Lesser Poland as you head towards the Tatra Mountains. The drive to Zakopane typically takes approximately 90 to 120 minutes depending on traffic conditions.
Your first stop is the picturesque village of Chochołów, famous for its remarkably preserved wooden houses and traditional Highlander architecture. This unique settlement offers visitors a glimpse into the authentic culture and heritage of the Podhale region and is considered one of the most beautiful villages in southern Poland. Take a leisurely walk through the village streets, admire the centuries-old timber houses, and capture memorable photographs of this charming location nestled at the foot of the mountains.
Next, visit a traditional shepherd's hut where local Highlanders continue centuries-old cheese-making traditions. Here you will have the opportunity to taste the famous smoked sheep cheese known as Oscypek, one of the most iconic products of the Tatra region and protected under European Union designation of origin regulations. To complete the authentic experience, enjoy a tasting of regional Polish vodka while learning about local customs and culinary traditions that have been passed down through generations.
The journey continues to Zakopane, Poland's most famous mountain resort and often referred to as the "Winter Capital of Poland." Upon arrival, board the historic Gubałówka Funicular Railway and ascend to the summit of Gubałówka Hill, one of the best viewpoints in the region. After descending from Gubałówka, enjoy of free time to explore Zakopane at your own pace. Take a stroll along Krupówki Street, the town's lively main promenade and cultural heart. This bustling pedestrian avenue is lined with traditional restaurants, local boutiques, artisan shops, and market stalls selling handcrafted souvenirs, wool products, regional delicacies, and authentic Highlander crafts. This is also the perfect opportunity to enjoy lunch in one of Zakopane's many traditional restaurants and sample local specialties such as grilled oscypek, hearty mountain soups, or regional meat dishes (lunch not included).
After exploring Zakopane, it's time to relax in thermal complex. Upon arrival, you will receive an electronic wristband providing access to the changing rooms and personal lockers. Your included 3-hour admission ticket grants access to a wide variety of attractions designed for both adults and families with children. Enjoy indoor and outdoor thermal pools filled with naturally heated mineral-rich water, unwind in jacuzzis, and make use of the numerous water slides and recreational zones available throughout the complex. Guests can freely access both the indoor and outdoor swimming areas, allowing you to soak in the warm waters while admiring views of the surrounding mountains. For additional comfort, the complex also features a pool bar where drinks and snacks can be purchased throughout your visit (food and beverages are not included). Please note that the nudist area is not included in this tour package.
