Продолжение пути в Нафплион (первую столицу Греции в современное время), живописный город у подножия скалы, увенчанный могучими валами крепости Паламиди. Старый город был построен в основном во времена губернатора Иоанниса Каподистрия, в начале 19-го века, но здания все еще существуют с венецианской эпохи. A vast archaeological site, it includes not only the Sanctuary of Zeus but also the stadium where the Nemean Games took place, which honored the ancient Greek god. The stadium has recently been discovered. It is notable for its well-preserved vaulted entrance tunnel, dated to about 320 BC, with ancient graffiti on the walls.
