A Bamboo Ecotours representative will pick you up at Entebbe International Airport or Entebbe town in the morning and drive to Bwindi National Park. The drive will take about 8-9hrs going through western Uganda's major towns of Masaka, Mbarara, and Kabale. There are two scheduled stopovers along the way: the first one at the Equator crossing near Masaka for a coffee break and handicraft shopping. The second stop will be in Mbarara city for lunch at the Igongo Cultural Centre. After the short stopover in Mbarara city, you will proceed to Bwindi National Park. Dinner and overnight at Bwindi National Park or Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.
You will head to the Bwindi National Park gate immediately after breakfast to get a briefing about the gorilla trek. The briefing will be conducted by the national park guide and will cover the basics on what to expect during the trek. It is at this point that you will be told which gorilla family to trek. It is likely that you will be joined by other visitors. The gorilla trek can take from few to many hours depending on how far the gorillas are inside the forest.
We will drive from Bwindi National Park to Queen Elizabeth National Park. On arrival at Queen Elizabeth National Park, join an afternoon game drive at the Kasenyi Plains to spot wildlife.
Kasenyi plains game drive You will start the day with early morning breakfast at the lodge. Afterwards we proceed to the famed Kasenyi plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park to spot various species of wild animals. Kasenyi plains dwell in the vast savannahs of the Albertine rift in Queen Elizabeth National Park. It will be a morning full of adventure! Expect to encounter lions, herds of buffalos, elephants, Uganda kobs, topi, and bushbucks. While it is not guaranteed to spot the "Big Five" in the park, on a luck day you may site leopards to make it the "Big Four". We will return to the lodge for lunch. Kasenyi boat trip After lunch, join the Kazinga channel boat cruise for an afternoon of wild game viewing. You will spot crocodiles, buffaloes, elephants, and a wide range of bird species on the channel waters.
