Pigeon Island National Park, situated approximately 1 km off the coast of Nilaveli near Trincomalee, is one of Sri Lanka's premier marine sanctuaries. Named after the rock pigeons that inhabit the island, it boasts some of the country's most pristine coral reefs and a rich diversity of marine life.
You can enjoy the beauty of corals, plants, topical fish, turtle; you can see baby sharks too!
The shallow, calm waters make it an ideal spot for both beginners and experienced snorkelers. Notably, the area is frequented by green and hawksbill turtles, as well as juvenile and adult blacktip reef sharks, offering unforgettable underwater encounters
