Huaraz is one of the major cities of the highlands of Peru; it is a place of arrival of adventure and mountains sports in the snowy peaks of the Cordillera Blanca, as well as tours to the archaeological site of Chavin.
The city of Huaraz, Capital of the department of Ancash, it is situated in the heart of Peruvian Andes with a 408 km from the north of Lima. It has an altitude of 3 080 meters above the sea level. The city is flanked by the Cordillera Blanca and Negra, east and west respectively, forming the valley properly known as the Callejon de Huaylas.
It is considered one of the most important touristic destinations in Peru, due to the natural beauty of its landscapes, archaeological monuments (pre – Inca and Inca) and varied folklore, is a privileged city with a grand natural and cultural heritage.

In the area of the Cordillera Blanca and surrounding valleys, the Chavín, Recuay and Huaylas cultures develop. Later the Wari (9th century) and Inca (13th century) expansions occur.

The Querococha lagoon is a body of water of glacial origin located in the Cordillera Blanca in the Ancash region of Peru, it has a dark green color and is found with some queñual groves around it. It is located 57 kilometers southwest of the city of Huaraz, at an altitude of 3,972 meters above sea level.

3Chavin de Huantar
Chavín de Huántar is an archaeological complex built by the Chavín culture between the 2nd and 1st centuries BC and used until 200 BC. C., when it was abandoned. This impressive place is located in the foothills of the Andes mountain range, at the point where the Mosna and Huacheqsa rivers meet.

The Huascarán mountain is the highest peak in Peru with 6,768 meters above sea level in the south peak, and 6 655 meters above sea level in the north peak, located in the Cordillera Blanca, in the Yungay Province. It is the most popular snowfall and every year thousands of mountaineers and climbers come to challenge its imposing peaks.

Parón Lagoon (Laguna Parón) is one of the most stunning natural attractions in Huaraz, located within the Huascarán National Park in the Cordillera Blanca, Peru. Situated at about 4,200 meters (13,780 ft) above sea level, it is the largest lagoon in the park, surrounded by towering snow-capped peaks such as Artesonraju (often called the “Paramount Pictures mountain”), Pirámide, and Chacraraju.
