You’ll visit the Temple of Kom Ombo after lunch. The name “Kom Ombo” came from two parts; the first part is “Kom” in the sense of a hill, and the second part is “Ambo,” which deviates from “Anbu” or “Nebo,” meaning gold, as this region dominated the roads leading to gold mines, as known as “Ba-Sobek” in the Egyptian texts, meaning the Sobek headquarters who have worshipped in it since pre-dynastic times. Overlooking the eastern bank of the Nile, Kom Ombo Temple is perched above a high hill. The temple‘s base dates back to the period of Ptolemy VI, but after the period of King Ptolemy XIII, building and engravings proceeded. So you return to your port.
