Arrive at Athens International Airport. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Check-in and enjoy some free time to freshen up after your flight. If you feel like it, you can go on an optional excursion (not included): Half-day tour of Cape Sounio: Drive along the coastal road, passing the wonderful beaches of Glyfada, Vouliagmeni & Varkiza to the most Southern point of Attica, Cape Sounion, where the white marble pillars of the Temple of Poseidon stand. On the way, you have a splendid view of the Saronic Gulf and the little islands offshore. After visiting the Temple of Poseidon, you have time to walk at leisure on the rocky promontory of Sounion. Early in the morning after breakfast, begin your half-day Athens city tour. Meet your guide, board your bus and discover the striking contrasts that make Athens so fascinating. You'll see the Panathenaic Stadium, where the first modern Olympic Games were held in 1896 (short stop), then pass the Prime Minister's residence, guarded by the Euzones in their colourful uniforms, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, Hadrian's Arch, Parliament, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the Academy, University, National Library and Constitution Square (Syntagma). On the Acropolis, visit the architectural masterpieces of Athens' Golden Age: the Propylaea, Temple of Athena Nike, Erechtheion and the iconic Parthenon. Continue to the Acropolis Museum to admire treasures of the classical era. Due to museum visiting restrictions, the order of the programme may change. Return to your hotel at approximately 13:30. The rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight in Athens.

Wake up to breakfast at the hotel and enjoy a day at leisure in Athens. Explore the city's historic streets, neighbourhoods and hidden corners at your own pace. If you'd like to sample local flavours, join our optional food walking tour (not included). Delicious Athens Food Tour (available daily except Sundays): Meet your English-speaking guide and begin with traditional Greek coffee at a landmark café. Sample a classic koulouri street snack, then visit a speciality food store to taste olive oils, spreads and other Greek products. Continue to a historic baklava bakery before enjoying authentic souvlaki and fried potatoes. Next, explore the bustling Varvakios Market, Athens' largest food market, and stroll along Spice Street to discover local herbs and condiments. You'll also stop for bougatsa, a traditional cream-filled pastry, before ending with a selection of Greek meze, cheeses and cured meats at a charming deli. Overnight in Athens.

4Athens International Airport "Eleftherios Venizelos"
Wake up to your beautiful breakfast in the hotel and enjoy your last day in this long-standing metropolis. At the indicated time, you will be transferred to the airport of Athens (or Piraeus port) to take your flight home or to your following destination.
