Upon arrival at the El Calafate airport (FTE), the company will arrange a special car to take you to the hotel for check-in. Departing in the morning from El Calafate, after 80 km you reach the western end of the Peninsula de Magallanes from where the walk along the walkways begins. Here you can spend the time you want to this amazing place, with various stops at panoramic points within the National Park. The walkways are 3 km long. They are located at different levels and allow you to contemplate the glacier from different perspectives and balconies. Depending on the physical conditions, you can reach the lower balconies and near the glacier or stay on the first balconies easily accessible for anyone. Perito Moreno Glacier The Perito Moreno Glacier (Spanish: Glaciar Perito Moreno) is a glacier located in Los Glaciares National Park in southwest Santa Cruz Province, Argentina. It is one of the most important tourist attractions in the Argentine Patagonia.
Today you can freely travel in El Calafate or choose the optional tours. The optional tour is considered from 2 travelers, please take note all optionals are subject to availability.
Option1: Excursion Full Day El Chaltén The tour begins from your hotel in El Calafate at 7:00 am. You get up to El Chaltén at about 10:45, after touring the village we will reach your Base of Operations, from there passengers can visit the village or take free walks along the self-guided trails that depart from El Chaltén and lead to the main viewpoints: Laguna Capri, Mirador del Fitz Roy, Mirador del Cerro Torre, Mirador de los Cóndores and Salto del Chorrillo, for which we will advise you on the different options depending on your fitness and give you maps of the enabled trails.
Includes: Transfers Bilingual guide Box lunch Special Notes: 1. Wear comfortable clothes, especially long pair of trousers, sun blocker, sun glasses and an extra coat. Gloves, hat, waterproof wind breaker and a bag pack. 2. People doing this tour should be fit since it demands a physical effort.
Option2: Excursion Todo Glaciares (Full Day) - Shuttle Service with English speaking guide. Resources are tight, so it is recommended to make reservations in advance. Please confirm in advance whether reservations are available. From Punta Bandera Port, 47km from El Calafate, we will start sailing along the North Arm of Lake Argentino. We will cross the Boca del Diablo to the Canal Upsala to navigate among the large icebergs that come off the front of the Upsala Glacier.
Then we will enter the Canal Spegazzini and later we will have the first view of the Dry Glacier. We will continue sailing to the front of the Spegazzini Glacier where we will also contemplate the Heim Sur and Peineta glaciers. We will prepare to disembark at the Spegazzini Base and begin the visit to the area by walking through the forest trail to the Refugio Spegazzini. This 300-meter trail is accessible and as we walk along it, we will stop at stations and viewpoints overlooking the entire Bay Glacier. In the Refuge we can have lunch, visit the shop or contemplate the landscape. For those who like to walk, they can take the mountain trail. This route is a medium difficulty trekking through a wooded path, with natural viewpoints, full of incredible views that end at the landing point. Entrance fee for National Park Perito Moreno is included.
After breakfast, we will take you to El Calafate Airport (FTE) to end your pleasant journey. The staff only provides drop-off service from the hotel at 8:00 in the morning. If the guest has an early flight and needs to leave the hotel before 8 o'clock to the airport, the guide can help the guest take a taxi.
