the temple of Ptah, the fallen colossal statue of King Ramses the 2nd and the Alabaster Sphinx of King Amenophis the 2nd. A short drive from Memphis lies the oldest, ancient cemetery of Sakkara. The world’s first monumental stone building, the Step Pyramid of King Zoser, built by the engineer Imhotep almost 5,000 ago, still stands. After visiting the complex you continue to one of the Mastabas (tombs) built nearby, such as those of Ptah-Hotep, Mereruca, Idut or Ti for an inside visit.

During your visit to the Pyramids you will have time for unique photo opportunities of the three Pyramids from the Western Plateau. Continue down the valley where the guardian of this mortuary complex, the Mighty Sphinx, bears witness to the passage of time and man in eons of silence. Then you will be back to your hotel.

Old Cairo Area The old city of Cairo is in Coptic Cairo. This is the place where the Romans founded their Christian Babylon, an area that has been inhabited by Cairenes for over 2000 years. Fortress city since time immemorial, in the Coptic quarter experienced one of the first Christian communities in the world. Babylon Christian Walk of Cairo, the old part of town. A meeting place for the Egyptians, this area has considerable attractions. Among the highlights you will see a strong Greco-Roman and Persian. You can also enter the famous Hanging Church and Ben Ezra Synagogue, the oldest in the country. Roman ruins and old cobbled streets you will find two monasteries still inhabited the San Mercury and San Jorge, plus such interesting churches such as Santa Barbara, St. Cyril and St. Bacchus. All churches are welcome to worship Coptic but many Catholics during Holy Week.
