After breakfast, you'll be picked up at 06:30 and taken to the bus station for a scenic journey to Puno with guided stops at four remarkable sites: Andahuaylillas: Known as the "Sistine Chapel of South America," this church showcases stunning Andean religious art. Raqchi (Wiracocha Temple): An impressive Inca structure with towering walls and 11 grand columns in each nave.
• La Raya: This is the half-way point between Cusco and Puno and also the highest point (14,222 feet above sea level). The landscapes here are stunning and typical Andean animals like the llama, alpaca and vicuña are familiar sights. It is also the geographic border between two cultures - Quechua and Aymara. • Pukara: This is the most important and oldest ceremonial center of the altiplano. There are new lite-sculptures and tombs. Arrival time to Puno will be around 5 pm.
Begin your journey with a transfer to the port, where you’ll board a modern motorboat for a scenic 30-minute ride to the Floating Islands of the Uros, and a private tour guide who will be with your along the trip. Here, discover the unique lifestyle of the Uros people, who build their homes on floating totora reed islands and maintain traditions of fishing, hunting, and handicrafts. Next, visit Taquile Island, known for its stunning landscapes and vibrant culture. Visit a local family to learn about their daily life and intricate textile artistry. Savor a delicious lunch at a traditional island restaurant, then relax by the lake before returning to Puno by boat. Upon arrival, a transfer will take you back to your hotel, completing this immersive cultural experience.
