What to expect

Are you a tourist or a traveler?
Do you just want to experience the food?
Or do you want to gain a deeper understanding of Taiwanese daily life and local customs through close conversations?

We are committed to the quality of our ingredients and courses, so we do not take a commercialized approach. Instead, we maintain a small-class format with a maximum of six students per session.

From the very beginning—exploring the market—we take a different approach. Instead of simply shopping for ingredients, we focus on understanding seasonal produce and fruits. You'll also have the chance to sample some foods and drinks at the morning market that might be unfamiliar to most travelers but are a daily part of life for Taiwanese people. Our course is designed to feel like you’re visiting a Taiwanese home, learning home-style cooking alongside your host, Wayne.

With nearly 30 years of culinary experience, Wayne learned traditional Taiwanese home cooking from his mother and later mastered Sicilian home-style Italian cuisine from an Italian grandmother while living in Melbourne, Australia. You are welcome to engage in deep conversations with Wayne about food and even cultural differences.
