The Corinth Canal is a man made canal in Greece, that connects the Gulf of Corinth in the Ionian Sea with the Saronic Gulf in the Aegean Sea. After leaving Athens, our first stop will be the Corinth Canal where you can gaze the breathtaking view from the bridge and take great photos.
Later on, in the Peloponnese, explore the beautifully preserved remains of Mycenae, one of the most important sites in Ancient Greece, home of the legendary Agamemnon, leader of the Greeks during the Trojan War.
Our next stop is at the UNESCO-listed Sanctuary of Asklepios, first healing center of the Ancient World. You will also see the impressive Theatre of Epidaurus, one of the most visited ancient sites in Greece.
Visit dominating Palamidi castle on top of the hill, overlooking Nafplio.
Then, we will reach the historic Nafplion & first capital of modern Greece with its dominating Palamidi castle overlooking the Venetian quarter, now housing many local crafts shops which are a joy to explore. Enjoy lunch in one of the seafront taverns in view of the impressive Bourtzi fortress lying in the bay before checking in to your accommodation.
After breakfast we will continue for around two hours (stopping at small villages or other places of interest, like Leonidio or Kosmas) to reach Monemvasia. Originally separated from the mainland by an earthquake, the Gibraltar like rock of Monemvasia was an ideal inaccessible natural fortress for settlement in the 6th century by the local inhabitants seeking protection from Slavic invaders in the 6th century.
We will head to north to visit the 800 year old ruins of the Medieval city & UNESCO site of Mystras, once seat of Byzantine power in the region & replete with palaces, residences, mansions, churches and monasteries, water & drainage works, commercial workshops, extensive streets & fortifications.
We will visit the Caves of Diros where you can take a boat ride through its many chambers to emerge finally at the sea.
We will visit the picturesque small city.

after enjoying the routes & sites of Mani like Areopoli or Limeni, we come to its Capital Kardamyli where you can spend time to shop for a souvenir & have lunch or a drink by the sea.
Today we will visit Olympia a UNESCO World Heritage site and the birthplace of the Olympic Games, one of the four most worshiped athletic events in the Ancient Greek world. Visit the Temple of Zeus, crafted by the famous Phidias which was among the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Walk around the Palestra and the Gymnasium once used by the thousands of male athletes gathered here to take place in the Olympic Games and win its unique award, an olive wreath form the holy olive trees. Visit the Archaeological museum which houses plastic art masterpieces like the Hermes of Praxiteles and the Nike (Victory) of Paionios and the sculptures once decorating the Temple of Zeus. Continue this trip to Ancient times and visit Ancient Messene. This ancient city was, unlike most others, untouched by the later settlements and has thus been preserved outstandingly. Later on, take a visit to the Museum of Olive and Greek Olive Oil and learn all the secrets about Greek extra virgin olive oil.

Stroll through traditional mountain villages like Dimitsana or Stemnitsa, visit a museum and clifftop monasteries, dip your feet in the Lousios Gorge, and taste home-style Greek cooking at a friendly tavern. At afternoon, we will start our trip back to Athens.
