This is not the typical Comuna 13 - Graffiti tour, we decided to add a visit to a vibrant, colorful, cultural and diverse "PLAZA DE MERCADO" to our experience, in Colombia "Plazas de Mercado" refers to traditional marketplaces where farmers and locals buy and sell a wide variety of fresh fruits, plants, vegetables, flowers, handicrafts and other goods.
These markets are not only places to shop but also vibrant hubs of cultural, social and economic activity, where we can experience the city's real culture and atmosphere, we'll immerse into the daily life of Medellín residents nicknamed "Paisas", and really understand their collective background and culture.
And of course! we'll have the opportunity to try some delicious exotic fruits surrounded by friendly locals, life and traditions!!

Here, we will have the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the authentic Paisa culture, brimming with an array of natural products. From exotic fruits and beautiful flowers to charming minimarkets, coffee shops, and indigenous tribes' curing herbs, simply fascinating! And of course, we cannot miss the chance to sample some of the exotic fruits, further enhancing our sensory exploration, we'll try some gulupa, tomate de arbol, pitahaya, curuba, uchuvas, granadilla and several more, Colombia is home of over 400 varieties of fruits!!
2) Our next destination is the captivating, multicultural, and vibrant Comuna 13—a true testament to transformation and resilience. Once plagued by the control of drug dealers, guerrillas, and paramilitary groups, today it stands as the shining jewel of Medellín. We'll have a walk through the graffiti route to witness the remarkable fusion of art and history. The graffiti and murals scattered throughout the neighborhood vividly depict its tumultuous past, remarkable present, and its inspiring future. Ascending to the highest point of the mountain is a breeze, thanks to the electric escalators—so no worries for those who prefer an easier climb. Once at the top, we will be rewarded with an extraordinary and strategic view of the city, allowing us to understand why various armed groups sought control over Comuna 13. We'll have the chance to visit art galleries, witness mesmerizing breakdancers, Rap shows, and indulge in the diverse local cuisine that can be found in every corner.
3) Before we conclude our visit to Comuna 13, we cannot miss the opportunity to embark on a cable car journey—an emblem of progress and innovation in Medellín. This transportation played a significant role in positioning Medellín as the world's most innovative city, it is worth noting that Medellín boasts the only Metro system in Colombia, recognized as one of the most efficient in all of Latin America! We will embark on a captivating round trip aboard the cable car, ascending the mountains and soaring above the vibrant "barrios" of Medellín. This unique perspective offers a completely different vantage point, allowing us to absorb the diverse facets of the city and marvel at how its residents adapt to various circumstances. 4) We'll pass by the house where Pablo Escobar, Colombia's most notorious criminal, was hiding here for the last 3 days of his life until finally tracked down, where one of the country's most violent and ruthless drug traffickers met his demise. We will delve into the life and death of this unique figure, providing a deep analysis of his actions and impact on the country, and try to solve the biggest and most controversial question, who killed Pablo Escobar???
