Begin your day with an early breakfast at the hotel, followed by a transfer to Moroni Airport for your flight to Anjouan. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by your guide and transferred to Hotel des Îles in Mutsamudu for check-in. Enjoy a relaxing lunch with panoramic views of the Indian Ocean. In the afternoon, embark on a walking tour of Mutsamudu’s historic old stone town and the 18th-century citadel, offering spectacular views of the city and the surrounding ocean.

Day 4
Anjouan -Mohéli

After breakfast at the hotel, you will transfer to the airport for your flight to Mohéli, connecting via Grande Comore, as there are no direct flights from Anjouan. Mohéli, the least populated and most pristine island of the archipelago, is now a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Here, you will encounter lemurs, coral reefs, whales, manta rays, sea turtles, and untouched islands. Upon arrival at Mohéli Airport, a driver will escort you on a scenic 2-hour transfer along the rugged coastline to Laka Lodge. Village Walk & Ylang-Ylang Visit (16:00 – 18:00) Experience the charm of the village of Nioumachoua with a guided walking tour led by a local resident. Observe the communal lifestyle, traditional shops, and the welcoming spirit of the villagers. Climb the hill to explore the ruins of the old village, now reclaimed by the jungle. Conclude the tour with a visit to artisanal ylang ylang distillery, the source of Comoros’ top export and a key ingredient in iconic perfumes such as Chanel No. 5.

Leisure Day in Mohéli – Laka Lodge

Enjoy a full day at leisure in the tropical paradise of Mohéli, staying at Laka Lodge. Relax on the private beach, snorkel along the house reef, swim with hawksbill turtles in the lagoon, or rent a kayak to explore the surrounding mangroves. Friendly lemurs, which often visit the hotel grounds, add to the unique charm of your stay. You may also choose from a variety of optional activities offered by Laka Lodge, including boat excursions and snorkeling trips around the islands of the national park, guided forest hikes to spot the endangered Livingstone’s fruit bat or discover hidden waterfalls, and scuba diving along vibrant, colorful coral reefs. After two days of tranquility at Laka Lodge, you will depart after lunch for Itsamia, one of the world’s most remarkable sea turtle nesting sites. The scenic drive winds along the coastline through lush forests and fragrant ylang-ylang plantations, offering stunning ocean views along the way. Upon arrival, check in to your beachfront bungalow and take time to explore the village, renowned for its green sea turtle conservation efforts. The secluded beaches of this small village on Mohéli provide an extraordinary setting to witness the life cycle of these gentle giants. From observing the mothers carefully digging their nests to witnessing hatchlings emerge and make their determined journey to the sea, this experience offers one of nature’s most profound and moving spectacles.

Boat Transfer to Grande Comore

Enjoy an early breakfast before departing from Itsamia for the transfer to Mohéli Port. Board the Adore Comores Express at 07:30 for your crossing to Grande Comore, arriving in Ouroveni at approximately 09:00. The vessel is well regarded for its reliability and comfort. This is an opportunity for us to hear your feedback and to express our sincere appreciation for traveling with us. You will then enjoy a guided walking tour of Moroni’s historic old stone town. Wander through narrow, ancient alleyways infused with an Arabian ambiance, lined with picturesque cafés and traditional shops. Conclude your visit at the vibrant local markets, where the aromas of fresh spices mingle with tropical fruits and the day’s catch from the sea.
