The day will be spent exploring the park’s diverse wildlife, offering plenty of opportunities for incredible sightings. In the afternoon, you’ll continue to the top of the awe-inspiring Murchison Falls, where the Nile River crashes through a narrow gorge. The day concludes with dinner and an overnight stay at the elegant Paraa Safari Lodge.
Start your day with an early morning game drive through the vast landscapes of Murchison Falls National Park. The park offers an incredible array of wildlife, including lions, hippos, leopards, Uganda kobs, buffaloes, and many more. Bird enthusiasts will also be thrilled, as the park is home to around 415 bird species. At noon, embark on a scenic boat ride along the Victoria Nile to the base of the mighty Murchison Falls, where you’ll witness the world’s largest crocodiles basking along the riverbanks. Today, you’ll be transferred to Fort Portal, a charming town nestled at the foothills of the majestic Rwenzori Mountains. In groups of eight, you’ll spend 3 to 8 hours tracking these magnificent creatures through dense jungle terrain, observing them up close in their natural habitat. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime encounter that leaves a lasting impression. After the trek, return to the lodge for a well-deserved dinner and overnight stay.
Wake up and begin your return journey to Kampala, traveling through the scenic landscapes of southwestern Uganda. Along the way, you’ll pass through Mbarara, the heart of the Ankole region, known for its rolling hills and long-horned cattle. The day ends with dinner and an overnight stay at the tranquil Rwakobo Safari Lodge, offering a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature.
Continue your journey with a visit to Lake Mburo National Park, a compact yet wildlife-rich haven known for its zebras, impalas, and scenic landscapes.
