This tour is a combination of local lifestyle, culture, Maltese tradition, history and a ride in the beautiful blue waters of the Blue Grotto (weather permitting)! So if you want a taste of what Malta is like, then this is the tour just for you!
Guests would need to look for a tag with Azure Bay Holidays on it. Hotel pickups are also possible. Coordination with guests will be done during the booking exchanges.
We will start our tour with a visit to the Gardjola Gardens in Senglea. From here we can enjoy a panoramic view of the majestic Maltese Harbour and the surrounding Three Cities. A breathtaking view from the Gardjola Gardens is a must-see while touring Malta!
We will next head to St. Thomas Bay in Marsascala where we will take the Munxar Path. En route, we will explore a little arch in the rocks, will pass through spectacular and stunning cliffs and breathe in the balmy sea air! We will arrive near the Xrobb l-Ghagin Hostel where we will proceed to go down a flight of stairs that lead to the rocky salt pans to the Xrobb l-Ghagin rocky beach.
Our next stop will be the popular beach of St Peter`s Pool which is a few meters away from Xrobb l-Ghagin. St Peter`s Pool enjoys blue deep waters and natural limestone rocks. Enthusiastic swimmers on the tour can have a chance of a pleasant refreshing dip in the clear waters.
Our next stop will be to lunch at Marsaxlokk village. Marsaxlokk is definitely worth a visit with its good selection of finest fresh restaurants, colourful fishing boats and open stalls displaying traditional Maltese crafts and traditions.
Our next attraction will be the Xarolla Windmill at Zurrieq. This windmill was built in the 18th Century and is still in good functioning order and in a well-preserved state. During the short photo stop, we will explore the Windmill, the adjacent chapel and the surrounding catacombs from the outside.
After a short drive, we will make our way to visit the Blue Grotto located in the outskirts of Zurrieq. If the sea condition is favourable, a 20-minute boat trip to the Blue Grotto is not to be missed!
Our final stop will be at the archaeological site of the Hagar Qim and Mnajdra Temples which is just a few meters up from the Blue Grotto. Both sides are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. A visit to the visitor centre will unfold the rich Maltese prehistory which these sites have survived. A memorable day like the one we spent on this tour can only be concluded with some specular shots of the sun setting from this archaeological site for an unforgettable keepsake of this tour.
