Despite being an industrialized city, Taichung offers some green areas in and around the town; today you will visit some of the nicest ones!
This tour will last around 9 hours and includes English speaking licensed guide, van and driver, lunch at the Lavender Cottage and entrance tickets.
Pick up will be at the hotel in Taichung ( city Center ) or Taichung High Speed train Station. Other locations in Taichung are on request.
Pick up in the morning by private car with English Speaking licensed Guide/Driver at your hotel in Taichung or at the HSR Train station. First stop will be the 1000 Old year Banyan tree in Taichung.
Tour will continue to the Lavender Cottage. “Two girls – Grace, who worked six years at a foreign bank in Taipei, and Tiffany, a piano teacher from Kaohsiung City – had been in touch with Western herbs for a very long time before they started dreaming of having their own lavender field in a place where both the body and soul could find tranquility and peace. In order to realize this dream and pursue the simple lifestyle they had pictured in their minds, the two girls packed everything they had on their backs, and embarked for Zhonghe Village, where mountains and trees run wild… It’s a place far, far away from the city where you can relax in the woods and smell the lavender scent... Lunch will be at the restaurant, there are 4 set lunch with soup and salad ( *drinks not included ): Menu of your choice between: - Rosemary Chicken hot pot; - Beetroot pasta with grilled shrimps; - Grilled pork with kumquat sauce; - Herb grilled pork; Or Vegetarian - Pumpkin hotpot; - Grilled vegetable and mushrooms.
After lunch, way back to Taichung and visit one of the mushroom farms in the area of Xinshe, where you can taste some mushrooms directly from the farm.
Once in Taichung you will visit the Tunghai university campus - the first private and the second oldest university in Taiwan - and the famous Luce Chapel followed by a walk in the little Art Street with its unique and artistic atmosphere.
Last stop is the Taichung National Theater the futuristic roof to enjoy the sunset. The theater is designed by Japanese architect Toyo Ito. Using the concept of the primitive caves and holes, Toyo Ito designed the world first and only Sound Cave Curved Wall for National Taichung Theater. There are no vertical and horizontal structures and it’s the world’s first curve surfaced hanging structure architect.
