The Icelandic Highlands is a unique area with some rugged landscape and that is exactly where this tour takes you. This 4-hour snowmobile adventure tour departs from Gullfoss. Marvel at the Icelandic scenery during your ride to the glacier in a 4x4 monster truck, then hop on your snowmobile after a brief instruction lecture and drive along and on-top of Langjökull glacier. Perfect for the independent traveler which just happens to be in the Golden Circle and wants to add a little extra to their sightseeing tour.
What's Included
Meeting and pickup
Gullfoss Waterfalls upper parking lot outside the restaurant. About a 2-hour drive from Reykjavik. You must be at the meeting point 15 minutes prior to the departure.
What to expect
We’ll pick you up at the meeting point and drive you up to our glacier basecamp in a specially modified mountain truck, crossing rugged highland roads and open mountain scenery along the way (when visibility allows). It can already feel like an adventure before the snowmobiles even start.
At our basecamp, we’ll provide all the necessary gear you need and give you a safety briefing on how to operate the snowmobile and what to keep in mind out on the glacier.
Then we head off for a one-hour snowmobile ride across a wide, snowy landscape that feels a world away from everything else. We stop during the ride for photos and a chance to enjoy the views and fresh glacier air. It’s a fun and memorable way to add something special to your Golden Circle day if you have a rental car or if you're staying in the area.
After the tour, we return to Gullfoss.
Please arrive 10–15 minutes before departure.
