We'll make a delightful 20-minute stop at the historic Marathokefala Cave in Spilia. It is a picturesque village located in the region of Chania, Crete, approximately 25 kilometers west of Chania town and near the coastal area of Kolymbari. Perched on a hillside, it offers stunning views of the surrounding countryside, olive groves, and the Aegean Sea. The village is best known for the Cave of St. John the Hermit (Agios Ioannis Erimitis), a historical and religious site believed to have been the dwelling of the saint in the 16th century. This cave is an important pilgrimage site and a must-visit for its tranquil atmosphere and spiritual significance.

Topolia is a traditional village located approximately 47 kilometers southwest of Chania. Situated at an altitude of about 280 meters, it offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
