We are licensed to get into the dockside. Rhodes is a dock port (All passengers disembark right at the pier, no tender boats or cable cars) so it’s easy to disembark. B) HOTEL: We pickup from any hotel in Rhodes Town (our headquarters). On the East Coast of the island we pickup till Kolymbia (25km / 15 miles from Rhodes Town). On the West Coast of the island till the Paradisi Village (14km / 8,6 miles from Rhodes Town). We'll meet you at your Hotel (just out of the lobby) with a sign on the vehicle showing your name.
From the pier (or your selected starting point) we drive to the Medieval City (World Heritage Site) where you can get your pictures from outside of the most important Gates. A) According to a new traffic regulation no cars enter the Old Town, only pedestrians. We can finish the tour later at a gate of the Old Town, so you can visit it on your own and walk back to the ship. From the Medieval City to the Cruise Port is 5min flat walk. This way you save time and money, as you don’t have to pay the driver (waiting-time) B) No stress, our knowledgeable drivers can show you how to walk via the Old Town back to the ship (just talk to your driver)
We continue to the Historical Buildings and visit the Mandraki Old Harbor where according to the tradition, the Colossus of Rhodes once stood - One of the seven wonders of the ancient world. At the entrance of the old harbor, atop tall columns, stand the two bronze deer - characteristic landmarks of the island. We can help with your pictures with background the deer, one of the many significant landmarks of Rhodes
Close to the entrance of the Old Port is the Church of the Annunciation that houses amazing gothic wall paintings by Fotis Kontoglou and impressive chandeliers. Today it is the town’s cathedral
We drive to Monte Smith Hill (Acropolis of Rhodes Town) on the way you see the North Point of the Island where the Mediterranean and the Aegean Sea meet. Once we reach the Acropolis (with the car no climb) we stop at a vantage point for a 360 Panoramic View of Rhodes Town and both East and West Coast - Scenic. We continue for photos from a distance of the Temple of Apollo, and the Ancient Stadium.
After finishing with the Highlights of Rhodes Town we drive 32 miles (50km) South East of the Island to Lindos - On the way you visit the Anthony Quinn Bay - Scenic IMPORTANT NOTE: On very busy days, Anthony Quinn Bay may become extremely crowded, making it difficult or even impossible for vehicles to access or exit the area due to the high number of parked cars. To avoid losing valuable tour time, we may replace the visit to Anthony Quinn Bay with a brief photo stop (on the way back) at Kallithea Viewpoint instead (please note: we will not enter Kallithea Springs). This adjustment allows us to maintain the overall quality and schedule of the tour while still offering a beautiful scenic stop.
On the way back, you can choose an optional short stop at a pottery workshop where the traditional pottery of Rhodes is made. You can see the wonderful pieces of art, and watch the potter Giannis (Giovani) working at his wheel. You can even learn the mystery of the Pythagorean cup!
One mile before Lindos we stop at a vantage point for a panoramic picture of the Acropolis, the Village, and the Port of Lindos - Scenic Then we drive into the Village at the main square so you can: Option A) To walk the alleys of Lindos and climb up the 292 steps to Acropolis Option B) Just explore the white village, walk the alleys of Lindos (not climb up to acropolis) Your driver can show you the acropolis from vantage points , and get your photos from a distance. This way you skip the crowds, save time, and have more time to explore the White Village You have one hour to spend in Lindos (village and Acropolis) In case you need more time please let us know on time of booking so we can modify the tour to your needs
Later we meet you at the main square of Lindos Village and drive you down to the Saint Paul's bay, where the Apostle is said to have landed in the year 51 AD to preach Christianity to the Rhodians.
