This impressive archeological site is still considered a sacred place for many local natives. In the past, everybody wanted to come to Pachacamac to visit and say "thank you" to the creator (Pachacamac) for receiving a good harvest, climate, water source, etc, and also to get answers to their questions. Pachacamac was also the place for high-level studies of astronomy, architecture, also a place for ancient rituals and human sacrifices as payments to Mother Earth; natives celebrated large festivities in honor of the gods. Come and immerse yourself in the ancient culture of Pachacamac!

Meeting and pickup
Hotel pick-up and drop-off service is included only when you are in the districts of: Miraflores, San Isidro or Barranco.
Outside of these areas, we ask that you pay a small fee for the pick-up and drop-off service to your hotel.

You’ll experience the city's lively atmosphere firsthand—passing street vendors and bustling crowds—as you feel the "embrace" of this metropolis of 12 million people. As we head toward Pachacamac, we’ll join the Pan-American Highway, the world's longest international route. Along the way, the sight of colorful shantytowns and unique local architecture offers an authentic perspective on the real Lima, making this journey as much a learning experience as an adventure.

1Museo de Sitio y Santuario Arqueologico de Pachacamac
Step back in time to visit the most important sacred sanctuary on the central coast of South America. Admire the site's colossal scale and take in the panoramic views of ancient pyramids, the fresh breeze of the Pacific Ocean, and the lush green valley below. Located just 31 km southeast of Lima (about a one-hour drive), the Pachacamac Archaeological Complex is an impressive pre-Columbian citadel featuring intricate adobe and stone palaces and towering pyramidal temples. We highly recommend visiting Pachacamac as your introduction to Andean culture before heading to Cusco and Machu Picchu. By exploring this coastal power center first, you will gain a much deeper understanding of how Inca traditions and architecture evolved!
