Pompey’s Pillar Pompey’s Pillar was built in honor of Emperor Decaldianus. The total height of the column, including the base, is about 2,685 metres. On the west side are two bases, which can be reached via an underground staircase. There are also two pink granite statues that look like sphinxes.
