Experience two beautiful summer days in central Hokkaido with an overnight stay at a leading hot spring. Travel conveniently by bus to attractions that are difficult to reach on your own. Look forward to fragrant flowers, fresh mountain air and majestic creatures.
Meet at the North Exit Group Bus Stop at Sapporo Station, near the eastern side of the North Exit. NOT from the western side of North Exit! Please arrive at least 10 minutes before the scheduled meeting time. The tour conductor will be holding a flag and a placard with the local tour operator's logo
After meeting with your tour conductor at the designated bus stop near Sapporo Station, you’ll board a comfortable coach and begin your scenic journey through Hokkaido’s most breathtaking landscapes. Your first stop is Campana Rokkatei, a charming confectionery and gallery set against the majestic backdrop of the Daisetsuzan Mountain Range. Take in the panoramic views while exploring the airy gallery space that showcases local art and Hokkaido’s seasonal beauty. Don’t miss the chance to browse their delightful selection of sweets, including the popular Marusei Butter Sandwich, perfect for souvenirs or a quick treat. Please note: Lunch is not included. Please prepare your own meal before gathering for the tour, and enjoy it on the bus en route.
Step into a fairytale world at Ningle Terrace, a hidden gem tucked within a tranquil forest near Furano. This quaint village is made up of tiny log cabins, each cabin is a different artisan workshop. You’ll find handmade candles, wooden crafts, glass art, and more — all crafted with care by local artists. The forested setting and rustic architecture give the area a magical, storybook-like feel, making it a delightful spot for browsing unique souvenirs and enjoying a peaceful walk in nature.
Here, ride a scenic lift to the top of the hill for sweeping views of lavender fields stretching toward the Tokachidake Mountains. In summer, the gentle slopes are dyed in purple, with the fragrant blooms reaching their peak. This is one of the best spots in Furano to take in both the natural beauty and fresh mountain air from above.
Hokkaido’s most iconic flower field, Farm Tomita, is a sea of color in full bloom. Best known for its lavender, the farm also bursts with vibrant seasonal flowers arranged in stunning rows across rolling fields. Stroll through the fragrant gardens, enjoy lavender soft-serve ice cream, and visit the dried flower house or perfume workshop to see how the essence of lavender is captured and preserved (on your own expense).
Next is the mysterious Blue Pond in Biei, a captivating natural phenomenon known for its surreal blue hue. The color changes subtly with the light and season, creating a dreamlike scene with standing birch trees emerging from the turquoise water. It’s a must-see spot that feels like you’ve stepped into another world—perfect for photos and quiet reflection.
Not far from the Blue Pond lies Shirahige Falls, or “White Beard Falls,” named for its foamy, white streams that cascade down the cliffs like a flowing beard. The falls emerge dramatically from beneath a volcanic rock surface and tumble into the Biei River below, surrounded by untouched natural forest. The contrast between the falls and the vivid blue of the river makes for a powerful visual experience.
Continue to Shikisai no Oka, a panoramic flower park that spans about 15 hectares of rolling hills, blanketed in flowers from spring through autumn. Here, fields of seasonal blossoms such as poppies, tulips, and sunflowers are arranged in artistic bands of color, creating a breathtaking landscape best appreciated from the hilltops. It’s a true painter’s palette come to life in the heart of Hokkaido.
After a full day of exploring Hokkaido’s stunning natural beauty, arrive at Sounkyo Onsen around 18:30. Spend the night at one of Hokkaido’s most renowned hot spring resorts, nestled at the foot of the Daisetsuzan Mountains. Surrounded by towering cliffs and dramatic natural scenery, this peaceful village offers a soothing escape. Unwind in a traditional open-air onsen bath, letting the mineral-rich waters melt away the day’s fatigue as you gaze out at the mountain landscape. Both hotel options offer a relaxing stay with non-smoking rooms, large public baths, and open-air hot spring baths, allowing you to unwind after a day of sightseeing. Each hotel provides comfortable rooms with Japanese or Western-style bedding, modern bathroom facilities, and basic amenities such as shampoo, conditioner, body soap, towels, and bath towels. Dinner and breakfast are buffet-style, offering a variety of Japanese and international dishes using local ingredients.
Features a Japanese-style rooms with bath and toilet, Western-style twin rooms with shower (no bath) and toilet, and Japanese-Western twin rooms with shower (no bath) and toilet. Amenities such as combs, toothbrush sets, and indoor yukata wear can be picked up near the front desk.
Offers Japanese-Western rooms with both bath and toilet in each room. In addition to the standard amenities, Choyotei provides a yukata sash and a hair dryer in-room. At the lobby, guests can help themselves to additional items such as yukata, toothbrushes, hairbrushes, razors, drawstring bags, and tea sets. Humidifiers are available upon request at the front desk (subject to availability).
Begin your second day with a visit to the famous Ginga and Ryusei Falls, twin waterfalls designated among Japan’s Top 100 Waterfalls. “Ginga” (Galaxy Falls) flows gracefully like a silver stream, while “Ryusei” (Shooting Star Falls) rushes down powerfully, side-by-side, from the towering cliffs. The surrounding forest adds a mystical ambiance, especially in the fresh morning air.
Your final highlight is Asahiyama Zoo, Japan’s northernmost zoo and one of its most beloved. Here, animals are displayed in natural, behavior-rich environments. Watch polar bears dive underwater, penguins waddle up close during walks, and seals swim playfully through vertical tunnels. The zoo’s innovative enclosures allow you to connect deeply with the animals and learn about their natural behaviors.
Before returning to Sapporo, enjoy free time around Asahikawa Station. Grab lunch at your own expense —perhaps a steaming bowl of Asahikawa ramen, famous for its rich soy-based broth. If you wish, you may choose to leave the tour here and continue your journey independently from this convenient transportation hub. After two unforgettable days exploring some of Hokkaido’s most scenic and iconic destinations, your tour concludes at Sapporo Station, with an expected arrival time of around 16:00.
