After meeting your tour conductor, you will board the coach and begin your journey toward Eastern Hokkaido. The drive to our first stop takes about 240 minutes including short restroom breaks along the expressway, and you can expect to arrive around noon. This roadside station is a comfortable place to stretch your legs and enjoy lunch at your own expense. There are easy counter-style options and regional snacks that highlight Okhotsk flavors. If it rains, the indoor spaces are cozy and convenient; if it is clear, step outside and feel the crisp mountain air that signals you are nearing the flower hills. After this free-time lunch stop, we continue our floral journey deeper into the Okhotsk region.

As the Shibazakura blooms, the surrounding landscape transforms into a stunning sea of pink, set against the fresh spring sky. After breakfast, you depart Abashiri around 8:00 and travel approximately 90 minutes across open farmland and rolling low hills to Kamiyubetsu Tulip Park, where you’ll be greeted by a sea of over 700,000 tulips in more than 200 varieties. As you stroll through the park, you'll be surrounded by the vibrant colors of tulips, ranging from deep reds to sunny yellows and delicate pastels. The sight of these well-manicured fields, bursting with color, is one of Hokkaido’s most enchanting spring displays. The tulips create a vibrant mosaic on the land, filling the air with a sense of wonder and joy. Peak bloom is also from mid-May to early June, with nature putting on a spectacular show.

The afternoon continues with a drive of about 40 minutes inland to Shibazakura Takinoue Park. What began decades ago with just a single mikan-crate of seedlings has grown—through local dedication—into roughly 100,000 square meters of blooming pink moss phlox spread across gentle hills. The typical peak is mid-May to early June, and the bloom forms textured bands of magenta, rose, and white. Paths weave between the color fields, and from certain viewpoints you can survey the entire hillside like a living tapestry. After your visit, the coach turns back toward Sapporo. The return journey takes about 220 minutes including breaks, with an evening arrival planned at the Sapporo Station North Exit around 19:00, subject to traffic and road conditions.
