Ziquejie rice terraces in Xinhua, Hunan province have been awarded the title of Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. The terraces, some of which date back more than 2,000 years, were built along the mountains in southern China by ancestors of the Miao and Yao ethnic groups. They not only help increase the output of rice in hilly areas but also showcase the seamless marriage of southern rice-growing customs and local fishing and hunting cultures. This site was one of four rice terrace sites newly designated as GIAHS, making China the country with the biggest number of GIAHS sites, with 15 total.

Visit Qianyang old town

In contrast to Hongjiang's narrow alleys and high walls, Qianyang consists of wide-open flagstone streets, fronted by wooden clapboard buildings (most of which date back to the Qing, although there is also one Ming house) and grander yinziwu-style compounds that once belonged to noble families (characterised by a series of adjoining courtyards, high exterior walls and concave roofs). passing a number of historic buildings open to the public. Following the tour will eventually lead to the red sandstone West Gate on the opposite side of town, which opens onto the Wu River and Qianyang's most famous landmark, the Hibiscus Tower. Perhaps less impressive than the town itself, the arcaded gardens surrounding the historic structure are nonetheless worth a wander.

This morning, about 30 minutes drive to the National Forest Park, Ascend by cable car to Yellow Stone Village.Located north of Gold Whip Stream,Yellow Stone Village is a large mountain village that offers numerous lookout points for fantastic natural views.thousand of unique mountain peaks rise from base of mountain valley,you will be impressed with the grandeur of the iconic Mountain. From each scenic platform, the panoramic view of undulating peaks and soaring pillars was just breathtaking, sightseeing more than 2 hours. After lunch,explore the Jinbianxi on foot. JinbianXi, in English means Golden Whip Stream Valley, famous for its pristine water, its verdant mountains, its steep cliffs and its serene valley. As a veritable paradise for plants, its pathways are adorned by an abundance of flowers, trees, and grasses. Then too, this place is a kingdom fit for various fauna-birds, fish and land animals. a leisurely walk along the winding Golden Whip Stream. The rippling or gushing sounds of running water against boulders and rocks were music to the ear. We enjoyed the serenity of the surrounding with a few interruptions from the frisky monkeys that were quick-witted to lure and catch a feed of peanuts from some of the tourists. Visit Tianmen Mountain

Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park
Breakfast in the hotel, check out and drive to Tianmen Mountain National Park (also known as Heaven Gate Mountain) by the longest cable car in the world (7455 meters) and marvel at the stunning 99 hairpin road against the high cliffs. You'll reach the base platform and a long flight of stairs leading up towards the Tianmen Cave – a natural water-eroded cave with the highest elevation in the world! This is known as the 'Heaven Reaching Ladder'. At the western side of the summit, there you can find the newly built Tianmen Temple. Sightseeing for 4 -5hours. Transfer to Zhangjiajie airport.
