Aokigahara Jukai, located at the foot of Mount Fuji, is a forest formed on lava flowing from the eruption of Mount Fuji 1,200 years ago. Once known as a popular suicide spot, Aokigahara Jukai is actually a beautiful, mystical forest brimming with vitality. It's home to a wide variety of plants, animals, and insects, including trees, moss, mushrooms, deer, squirrels, and rabbits.
On your walk, you can observe the plants living in this unique environment in this mysterious forest. Listen to commentary from a long-time local nature guide and discover many hidden discoveries.
Enjoy an extraordinary experience, from the mysterious formations of the cave's interior and icicles, to the stalagmites popping out of the frozen lava, to the sound of water trickling through cracks in the ceiling. Watch your step as you move forward in a natural lava cave, climb lava walls, slide on ice... The only light shining through the pitch black darkness, where sunlight doesn't reach, is from a headlamp. You'll use both your hands and feet to navigate the cave.
