2Horton Plains National Park
Horton Plains National Park is a protected highland plateau located in Sri Lanka’s Central Highlands, at an elevation of over 2,000 meters. It is famous for its breathtaking landscapes, rich biodiversity, and cool climate. The park is home to iconic attractions such as World’s End, a sheer cliff with a dramatic 870-meter drop, and Baker’s Falls. Horton Plains is also an important watershed and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for endemic flora and fauna, including sambar deer and rare bird species.
