The Egyptian Museum: Your tour begins with a visit to the Egyptian Museum, one of the most important museums in the world and a true treasure house of ancient Egyptian civilization. Located in Tahrir Square, the museum holds over 120,000 artifacts, showcasing more than 5,000 years of history. Inside, you’ll walk among statues, mummies, jewelry, and royal coffins that bring the stories of the Pharaohs to life. The highlight of the visit is the Tutankhamun Gallery, where you’ll see the young king’s golden mask, his solid gold sarcophagus, and many of his personal belongings that were discovered intact in his tomb in the Valley of the Kings. Each hall of the museum reveals a new chapter of Egypt’s glorious past — from the Old Kingdom pyramids to the New Kingdom temples and the treasures of the great pharaohs. A guided tour will help you understand the meaning behind each exhibit and how they shaped ancient Egyptian history.
Nile boat trip: After visiting the Egyptian Museum, you’ll have the option to enjoy a relaxing boat trip on the Nile River — a truly unforgettable way to experience Cairo from the water. As you sail along the world’s most famous river, you’ll see the city’s skyline, bridges, and daily life unfold before your eyes. The calm breeze and beautiful views offer the perfect break after exploring the museum. This optional activity is not included in the tour price and costs from around 10 EUR per person, depending on the size of the group. Your guide will help arrange it for you on the spot if you’d like to join. It’s a wonderful opportunity to take photos, enjoy the gentle rhythm of the Nile, and see Cairo from a completely different perspective before continuing your journey to the Pyramids.
Lunch: After the optional Nile boat trip, you’ll stop for a delicious lunch at a local Egyptian restaurant. Enjoy a freshly prepared meal featuring traditional favorites such as grilled chicken, kofta, rice, salads, and warm pita bread — the perfect way to recharge after a morning of sightseeing. Lunch is included in the tour price, however, drinks are not included and can be purchased separately at the restaurant. Take this time to relax, enjoy your meal, and experience authentic Egyptian hospitality before continuing your journey through the fascinating city of Cairo.
The Pyramids: Your next stop is the Giza Necropolis, home to Egypt’s most iconic monuments — the Great Pyramids of Giza and the mysterious Sphinx. Standing before these ancient wonders is an unforgettable moment, as you witness the last remaining Wonder of the Ancient World still in existence. Explore the Pyramid of Khufu (Cheops), the largest and oldest of the three, along with the Pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure, each with its own fascinating history and secrets. Your guide will share the stories of how these colossal structures were built over 4,500 years ago, revealing the incredible skill and vision of the ancient Egyptians. You’ll then visit the Panorama Viewpoint, the perfect spot for breathtaking photos of all three pyramids rising majestically from the desert sands. Take in the vastness of the site and enjoy some free time to capture the moment or even ride a camel with the pyramids as your backdrop.
Camel or Horse Ride: you’ll also have the chance to ride a camel or a horse with the pyramids as your backdrop. It’s a fantastic experience, but please ask your guide to help you negotiate and make sure you get a fair price from the local vendors.
Sphinx: After exploring the pyramids, your tour continues to the Great Sphinx of Giza, one of the most mysterious and iconic monuments in the world. This colossal limestone statue, with the body of a lion and the face of a pharaoh, has guarded the Giza Plateau for more than 4,500 years. Believed to represent Pharaoh Khafre, the Sphinx symbolizes strength, wisdom, and protection. Standing 20 meters high and 73 meters long, it’s an incredible example of ancient Egyptian artistry and engineering. As you walk around the site, your guide will explain the legends and secrets surrounding this timeless monument — from ancient rituals to modern discoveries. Don’t forget your camera — this is one of the most photographed spots in Egypt, offering stunning views of both the Sphinx and the Pyramids together.
Shopping: If time allows before leaving Cairo, you’ll have the opportunity to stop for shopping at one of the city’s traditional local workshops. You may visit a Papyrus Factory Museum, where you’ll see how the ancient Egyptians made the world’s first form of paper, or a Perfume Factory, where natural oils and essences are still produced using ancient methods. You can also explore local souvenir shops, offering hand-crafted items, Egyptian cotton, jewelry, and beautiful gifts to take home. These optional visits are a great way to experience Cairo’s culture up close — and your guide will be happy to help you choose trusted shops and negotiate fair prices.
Transfer Back: At the end of this unforgettable day, the bus will depart from Cairo heading back to Sharm El Sheikh. The return journey takes approximately 6 to 8 hours, depending on traffic and rest stops along the way.
