Our excursion to know the penguin colony is adapted for cruise passengers.
The tour departs in the morning in small groups and allows spectacular wildlife sightings, as well as living an authentic experience of Atlantic Patagonia from the perspective of the pioneers who populated the region last century.
Only 15 minutes from our stay is the Punta Nymphas Lighthouse. Your visit will make you feel privileged, forming part of a different, magical and unforgettable landscape.
Every year, from September, a growing colony of friendly Magellanic penguins settles in El Pedral.
As we tour the reserve, our steakhouse, along with its team, will prepare a traditional Patagonian lamb to the steakhouse, a gastronomic experience difficult to forget.
After lunch, you can enjoy the warmth of our quincho with a delicious tea or coffee accompanied by a typical Welsh cake, the perfect closure for an unforgettable day.

In the south direction of the mouth of the new gulf, 75 km from Puerto Madryn, is Punta Ninfas, the first stop where you can see the breeding sites of elephants and sea lions, we will continue the road to El Pedral, authentic Patagonian stay, which It constitutes a museum in itself. After visiting the interior of the house we will go to the colony of Magellanic penguins, a guided tour between their nests will allow them to get to know these animals better. At noon you will have lunch a delicious Patagonian roast lamb accompanied by salads, garnishes and house wine. During the afternoon you will be able to enjoy the stay that has a swimming pool, board games or take walks around the surroundings with beautiful landscapes.

- After lunch, you can enjoy the warmth of our barbecue area, with a delicious tea or coffee accompanied by a typical Welsh cake. The way back to Puerto Madryn will give you just enough time for a siesta.

- Just 15 minutes from the estancia, on top of the cliff at the southern end of the mouth of the Golfo Nuevo, is the Punta Ninfas lighthouse. A valuable reference point for sailors entering the New Gulf, it also fulfills its faithful task of watching over the arrival of the first whales to the Gulf each year, on the cold days of May. The view from the cliff of the Punta Ninfas lighthouse will make you feel privileged, part of a different, magical and incredible landscape.
- Stay: Authentic Patagonian farmhouse, the house of El Pedral is as attractive for its history as for its particular design. Built at the beginning of the 20th century, the materials and furniture were brought from Europe by boat and landed on the shores of the estancia itself. Inaugurated in 1923, the house preserves the aesthetics and style of those times, evoking a glorious time of intrepid entrepreneurs, undisputed pioneers of the development of the Valdés Peninsula.
- Passengers can observe colonies of Sea Elephants, take a guided tour among the nests of the Magellanic Penguins, and finally eat a traditional roast of lamb at the Estancia and enjoy the pool during the summer months.
- Our excursion to know the penguin colony of El Pedral is full day and is especially adapted for cruise passengers. The pick-up and drop-off service at the Port of Puerto Madryn is organized according to the arrival and departure times of each cruise, so we adjust the itinerary of the tour based on the schedule of each ship, ensuring that you can enjoy the experience with complete peace of mind and return on time.
