This fascinating tour will take you through Los Glaciares National Park to Estancia Nibepo Aike, a place where centuries of stories converge.
At the Nibepo Aike Ranch, dedicated to raising cattle, sheep and horses, you will have the opportunity to tour its corrals and sheds, and witness a demonstration of manual shearing, a tradition that has been kept alive for more than 100 years.
After the visit, you will enjoy a delicious Patagonian lamb roast in the ranch's Quincho. Then, a walk awaits you to the Los Pioneros pier, where you will begin a navigation along the South Arm and Rico Arm of Lake Argentino.
During the navigation, you will have the opportunity to contemplate the imposing south face of the Perito Moreno glacier, where you will be able to witness landslides and see how its front approaches the Magellan Peninsula. Guided departure in the morning (from 09:30 a.m.) from El Calafate along the old route 15, the “road of ranches”, which connects different histories of Patagonia: native peoples, pioneers and settlers.
Once inside the Los Glaciares National Park, at the end of the road, you will reach the Nibepo Aike Ranch where all the stories converge.
A walk is made to the Los Pioneros pier, from where a navigation through the South Arm and the Rico Arm of Lake Argentino begins.
Once again on board, the navigation covers the southern face of the Perito Moreno glacier. Opportunity to observe the landslides and appreciate how its front approaches the Magallanes Peninsula, sometimes coming to mount on the rock generating a natural dam. You disembark in Bajo de las Sombras port, to reach the footbridges that are 6 km away by land. The tour begins from the highest point, with a wide view, and then descends towards the Canal de Los Témpanos. Throughout the tour you will be admiring the magnitude of the glacier from different angles. After spending more than an hour on the catwalks, you return by vehicle to El Calafate at sunset.
