Next stop in Bronze-age 2000BC at Mycenae that true origins are unknown. According to Greek mythology, Perseus son of the Greek god Zeus he instructed Cyclopes (one-eyed giants) to build the walls of Mycenae with stones no human could lift.

Next in the so-called "valley of the gods", Ancient Olympia grew to be the most celebrated sacred site of Ancient Greece, and the birthplace of the Olympic Games, the most important sports events in all antiquity: starting from 776 B.C.     Archaeological Site of Olympia

    Olympia was the birthplace of the most famous and important sporting event in the ancient world. The Olympic Games took place here every four years from 776 BC to 393 AD. The site was also a place of worship dedicated to the Greek god Zeus from about the 10th century BC. Here you will find incredible sculptures such as the decoration of the temple of Zeus, as well as the famous Hermes of Praxiteles and the statue of Nike of Paionios.
