Leave the port of Cairo and travel west to El Alamein to see the memorial cemetery and museum dedicated to the famous battle of El Alamein. Returning to Alexandria, visit the Kom el Shoqafa tombs, Qaitbey Citadel, and other sites. Itinerary: Escape the hustle and bustle of Cairo for the day and immerse yourself in Egypt's history on this day trip. Get picked up from your hotel in Cairo in the morning and travel to El Alamein where you will discover World War II remains and cemeteries. Head to the Military Museum and admire a variety of weapons, military garbs, and tanks. Continue your tour with a visit to the WWII Cemeteries, located on the west of the town, on a small peninsula overlooking the sea. In the afternoon, drive to Alexandria where you will see Pompay’s Pillar. Next, head to Qaitbay Citadel and admire the impressive architecture of this 15th-century fortress. Finish your tour with a visit to the catacombs, the largest Roman cemetery in existence. Get dropped off back
