The meeting point is at Puno Cathedral, located in Puno’s Main Square. Travelers will meet our guide there to begin the City Tour.
Make your way to the center of Puno via Jirón Lima until you reach the Plaza Mayor (Plaza de Armas), located across from Puno Cathedral. The square is one block away from Parque Pino. The guide will be waiting at this location, displaying agency identification.
09:00 AM – Hotel Pickup Our tour begins with pickup from your hotel, followed by a short transfer to the historic center of Puno.
09:15 AM – Deustua Arch We will visit Deustua Arch, a historic monument built in 1846 in honor of the Peruvians who fought in the battles of Junín and Ayacucho. It is located a few blocks from Puno’s main street and features two small gazebos on either side.
09:40 AM – Pino Park and San Juan Church We will continue to Pino Park, one of the city’s main pedestrian areas. In the center stands a monument dedicated to Dr. Manuel Pino, a Peruvian hero of the War of the Pacific. San Juan Church is located directly across from the park.
10:00 AM – Carlos Dreyer Municipal Museum We will visit the Carlos Dreyer Museum, recognized as Cultural Heritage of the Nation. Its exhibition rooms display archaeological artifacts from ancient Andean cultures, including Pukara, Tiwanaku, and Inca, offering an insight into the history and cultural heritage of the region.
10:40 AM – Puno Cathedral We will visit Puno Cathedral, located in the Main Square. Built during the 18th century and completed in 1757, it features an impressive Spanish Baroque façade with Andean elements that give it a distinctive mestizo character. The cathedral holds the rank of minor basilica and is one of the city’s main historical landmarks.
12:00 PM – End of the Tour and Return to Your Hotel After visiting the main attractions of Puno’s historic center, we will conclude the City Tour and return to your hotel.
