Embark on a cultural walking tour to the Huriawa Peninsula to showcase their historic Pā site (fortified village or stronghold) known as Te Pā a Te Wera. Your local guide will tell you about legendary Maori warriors, of fierce battles and rivalries of days gone by, while taking in the stunning views from this remarkable coastal headland.
Also included is a visit the famous Moeraki Boulders on Koekohe Beach nearby. These giant rocks situated right on the ocean shore are indeed a geological marvel, as well as having strong cultural significance for Maori. They formed millions of years ago into perfectly round spheres and have been uncovered by the breaking waves and eroding sand.
The tour will visit Dunedin City for a brief look at some of the sightseeing highlights, such as Baldwin Street (World's Steepest Street), Dunedin Railway Station and the Octagon (city center) before heading back to Port.
