Enjoy a 3-day and 2-night Masai Mara wildlife game safari, camping on the banks of the Talek River. Later, proceed to Loita Forest for 4 days and 3 nights of walking through untapped natural forest, with local Maasai guides, porters and donkeys to help carry the luggage. Explore the natural beauty of the forest, full of birds and other wildlife. Camp at scenic areas along rivers and escarpments before emerging at the Nguruman area of Lake Magadi, overlooking Lake Natron and Shompole Conservancy.

    Day 1

    Nairobi To Masai Mara

    Maasai Mara National Reserve

    We will pick you up from your Nairobi accommodation/airport in the morning and drive to Masai Mara through the great African Rift Valley escarpment through the Masai town, Narok. We will arrive in time for lunch. Check in at the camp and have lunch. Go on an afternoon game drive through the park in search of lion, cheetah, elephant, buffalo and other members of the Big Five, plus other animals. Return to Talek Riverside Camp for your overnight stay. The safari guide and driver will do most of the chores at the camp; clients can take part in setting up their tent or cooking if they have a special way they wish their food to be prepared. Clients can also assist in loading and offloading luggage from the car if they are willing to.

    Masai Mara Full day Game Drive

    After breakfast, we depart for a full-day game drive with a packed picnic lunch. Enjoy the extensive game drive to view the wildlife and a visit to the Mara River, famous for the wildebeest migration. Have lunch by the river or somewhere scenic in the vast grassland under a lone tree with a great view.

    Masai Mara to Loita Forest

    Have an early morning breakfast and depart for Loita Hills to start the trekking by 11 am. Lunch will be organized at the start of the walking safari at our local guide's home, as they pack and load the donkeys with the luggage. We will start trekking at noon until 4 pm, passing through homesteads and grasslands across valleys to our first camping spot near a large man-made watering hole. Set up the camp, rest and prepare for dinner and overnight.

    Loita Forest Trekking

    After breakfast, your trekking starts. You will be trekking and resting as needed, guided by the local Maasai guides and their donkeys. The guides will assist you in carrying luggage and setting up the camps and also making food and lighting a bonfire. Trekking starts at 7 am – 3 pm with resting time in between.

    Nguruman Magadi to Nairobi

    Start trekking in the early morning after breakfast to arrive at the foot of Nguruman escarpment by 10 am. Relax and take a bath at the river, enjoy a cold drink and visit the local Masai village. Proceed for a drive to Nairobi, arriving in the early evening. Check in at the hotel or transfer to the airport to catch the flight back home.
