Head to Dougga, a beautiful Roman town on a hill, surrounded by olive groves and overlooking green fields and wooded hills. Built in golden stone, Dougga integrates harmoniously into the Kalled Valley and the Teboursouk Mountains. A UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997, Dougga is considered one of the most impressive Roman ruins in Africa. Enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant.
Direction el Kef, where you can explore the old town perched on a cliff, offering panoramic views of the valley. This historic area is home to a variety of monuments from different eras and religions, including cisterns and Roman baths, an ancient church dedicated to St. Peter, an 18th-century Jewish synagogue beloved by Muslims, and three adjacent cemeteries for Muslims, Jews and Christians. The most emblematic site of the city is the mausoleum of Sidi Bou Makhlouf, famous for its white domes and octagonal minaret decorated with emerald green ceramics. End your day with dinner and a night in Sbeitla.
