    2 stops
  • 1
    Tambopata National Reserve

We will pick you up from the airport or bus station in Puerto Maldonado and transport you to our office to provide you with the tour details. At 9:00 a.m., we will travel for one hour to our lodge in the wild Amazon. Upon arrival at the lodge, you will have a welcome meeting with a refreshing tropical juice. You will then receive your room. After a short rest, we will embark on a two-hour walk through the dense rainforest, guided by a local expert who will lead you along our trails to observe a variety of nature, including trees and wildlife.

After lunch, we will visit the “Monkey Island,” located across the Madre de Dios River from our lodge. There, you will encounter various types of monkeys, such as the squirrel monkey, brown capuchin, saddleback tamarin, and white capuchin. You will have the chance to observe and even feed them. In the evening, we will search for caimans along the banks of the Madre de Dios River. Using a flashlight, we will spot them by the reflection of their eyes. With some luck, we might also see the capybara, the largest rodent in the world, weighing up to 60 kg, which is part of the impressive Peruvian guinea pig family. Finally, we will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, we will head to the entrance of Sandoval Park (this ticket is the only one you need to pay on-site and it is not included). We will walk approximately 3 kilometers (2 miles) to Sandoval Lake, one of the largest lakes in the Tambopata National Reserve and a habitat for piranhas. Following this scenic walk, we will explore Sandoval Lake to observe various species, including monkeys, the prehistoric Hoatzin bird, jaguarundi cats, giant river otters, and common otters. We may encounter a family of giant river otters (nearly two meters long) that are endangered, as well as the largest recorded crocodile, measuring over 4 meters in length. We will then return to the lodge for a typical lunch. Later, you can enjoy the pool and the sunset before embarking on a night walk to observe a diverse range of insects, amphibians, reptiles, and other nocturnal animals. Finally, we will have dinner and rest for the night.

EXTREME SPORTS – ZIP LINING IN THE FOREST AND FISHING

  • 4
    Tambopata National Reserve

Early in the morning, we will walk on suspended bridges among the tall trees. From this height, you will view the rainforest from a different perspective, about 30 meters above the ground, and enjoy a panoramic view of the Madre de Dios River while spotting various animal species. After breakfast, we will prepare for the zip line adventure, which is over 40 meters high among the trees. The guide will provide instructions on how to use the safety harness before the zip lining activity, allowing you to experience the thrill of gliding through the trees safely. This unforgettable experience will surely remain a cherished memory. Later, we will return to the lodge for lunch and some rest. In the afternoon, we will go fishing in the Madre de Dios River. With patience and attention, you may catch large fish that will be served for dinner that night.
