This shared experience offers a convenient way to combine one of the most significant archaeological sites of ancient Greece with one of the country’s most important religious landmarks, all within limited time.
Travel through Central Greece, passing historic towns and scenic landscapes on the way to Delphi, where you will explore the Archaeological Site and learn about the ancient Oracle. After your visit, continue to Kalambaka for overnight stay.
In Meteora, admire breathtaking rock formations and visit two historic Byzantine monasteries built high on the cliffs.
On your return to Athens, stop at Thermopylae to see the monument of King Leonidas.
Due to the distances covered, this is a fast-paced itinerary with extended travel time by coach, allowing you to experience multiple iconic destinations within two days.

1Arachova
Your journey begins early in the morning as you travel from Athens towards Delphi. Along the way, pass through the regions of Thebes and Levadia, with a short stop in Levadia for rest. Continue through the picturesque mountain village of Arachova, known for its traditional architecture and scenic views on the slopes of Mount Parnassus. This part of the journey lasts approximately 3 hours, including a 20-minute stop in Levadia.

2Temple of Apollo
Your first stop is the Archaeological Site of Delphi, home to the ancient Sanctuary of Apollo and the famous Oracle. In antiquity, this was one of the most important religious centers of the Greek world, where Pythia delivered her prophecies from the sacred tripod. You will have approximately 1.5 hours at the site, including the free time to explore the ruins and enjoy some free time to take in the surroundings.

3Delphi
Enjoy free time for lunch in the Delphi area (approximately 1 hour), with the opportunity to taste traditional Greek cuisine at a local restaurant.

4Kalambaka
After your visit to Delphi, continue your journey to Kalambaka. This part of the journey lasts approximately 4 hours, including short stops for rest along the way. Travel through the landscapes and traditional towns of Central Greece before arriving in Kalambaka, the gateway to Meteora. Upon arrival, enjoy dinner and relax for the rest of the evening.

5Meteora
The day begins early in the morning, around 08:30 a.m. You will spend approximately 3 hours in the Meteora area, including transportation, visits to two monasteries, and free time. Meteora is renowned for its breathtaking scenery and panoramic views. Towering rock formations are home to historic Byzantine monasteries built on their peaks. During your visit, you will explore two of these monasteries, which have preserved important religious and cultural treasures for centuries.

6Kalambaka

7Leonidas Monument
On your way back to Athens, make a short stop at Thermopylae to see the monument of King Leonidas. This historic site commemorates the famous battle between the Spartans and the Persians. The return journey to Athens lasts approximately 5 hours, including short stops for rest along the way, arriving back in the early evening.
