Starting from Athens, a coastal route is followed along the Athenian Riviera, which has a breathtaking view of the Saronic Gulf and our first stop is Marina of Floisvos that is one of the most spectacular marinas of Athens with the most awesome Motor-Yachts.
After we pass the old airport of Athens, we pass the luxury area of Glyfada, with a variety of shops and restaurants, we arrive at the area of Vouliagmeni. First stop at this are is a secret breathtaking place to take some nice pictures of the Athenian Riviera and Vouliagmeni area.
After the magnificent photos we get into the car to drive, not far, to Vouliagmeni Lake. The lagoon formed about 2,000 years ago. It was once a large cavern that collapsed following an earthquake. The outline of the collapsed cavern roof can be clearly discerned from a distance. The lake has quite unique environmental conditions: it is supplied with warm seawater (28-35ºCelsius) via an underground channel spreading through a network of flooded caves, so its temperature never drops below 18 °C (usually ranges around 21-24 °C).
Finally after all the spectacular places we passed ,Faliron, Marina of Floisvos, Airport of Elliniko,Glyfada,Vouliagmeni Lake, and the most beautiful drive inside Athens, we arive at the Cape Sounion and the Temple of Poseidon. The temple of Poseidon at Sounion was constructed in 444–440 BC. Temple of Poseidon is an Hexa-style Temple that means that it has 6 columns front and 6 back and 13 on each side.
As we continue our beautuful journey to Cape Of Sounio we pass from the old airport of Athens, Elliniko International Airport, that used from Germans and later from 1945-1993 to USAAF(United States of American Air Force).
