What to expect

We pick passengers up between 6:00am to 6:20am from city center hotels in Puno.

Departing from Puno, the first stop is at Lagunillas, a scenic viewpoint where travelers can admire high-altitude lagoons and spot Andean bird species like flamingos.

Continuing the route, a brief stop at Patahuasi allows passengers to enjoy herbal teas such as coca and muña, helping them acclimate to the altitude. The journey then progresses to Pampa Cañahuas, where wild vicuñas, alpacas, and llamas roam freely in the vast Andean plains of this protected reserve.

Ascending further, the trip reaches its highest point at the Mirador de Patapampa (4,910 m s. n. m.), offering breathtaking panoramic views of the Andean volcanoes, including Misti, Chachani, Ampato, and Sabancaya. Here, travelers can also see the iconic apachetas, traditional stone piles left by previous visitors.

After enjoying the spectacular vistas, the descent begins towards Chivay, the gateway to the Colca Valley. Upon arrival, passengers are conveniently dropped off at their selected hotels or in the Plaza de Armas of Chivay

Important note: We may use small vehicles according to the number of travelers (from mini vans to mini buses)
