Here, you'll have the opportunity to engage with the Taquileños, gaining insight into their unique community-based lifestyle. A highlight of our visit will be observing the island's renowned textile art, recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage, and witnessing demonstrations of traditional weaving techniques. After our amazing adventure on Lake Titicaca Island, we'll arrive at the port and continue our journey by car to the awe-inspiring Sillustani ruins. The drive takes approximately one hour, offering scenic views of the Andean landscape along the way. Upon arrival, we’ll begin a walk to the summit, where the impressive burial towers, or chullpas, some reaching up to 10 meters high, await. These ancient funerary structures were built by the Colla civilization before being later used by the Incas, serving as final resting places for their elite. Sillustani is not only an archaeological wonder but also a site of deep spiritual significance, perched on a peninsula surrounded by the serene Umayo Lake. The combination of history, breathtaking scenery, and the mysterious legacy of the Colla and Inca cultures makes this site one of the most fascinating in Peru.
