Embark on a fascinating 3-hour tour that combines the best of Puerto Madryn’s urban charm and natural wonders. This experience takes you through the northern part of the city, the historic downtown, and finally to Punta Loma, where you’ll have the chance to observe a colony of South American sea lions in their natural habitat. Begin with a drive through the northern area of Puerto Madryn, where you’ll see how the city expands towards the coast, with modern neighborhoods, beautiful seaside views, and the ever-present Patagonian steppe in the background. Then, pass through the city center, where you’ll get a glimpse of Puerto Madryn’s history, culture, and main landmarks. Leaving the city behind, head towards Punta Loma, a protected area located about 17 km south of Puerto Madryn.

We will wait for you with a GREEN FLAG and a sign that will says ARNEZ #1 or ARNEZ #3, you can walk all the way down to the end of the pier, or take the free shuttle bus. Please get off the cruise as soon as you can and meet us outside the port.

1Reserva Loberia de Punta Loma
Punta Loma is the only permanent South American sea lion colony in the area, making it an essential stop for nature lovers. From the clifftop viewpoint, enjoy an incredible panoramic view of the sea lions as they rest and interact on the rocky shores below. Keep an eye out for cormorants and other seabirds that nest along the cliffs. Continuing along the coastal road, stop at Punta Este, a lesser-known but stunning viewpoint where the vastness of the Atlantic Ocean meets the rugged Patagonian coastline. It’s the perfect spot for photos and to take in the serenity of the landscape. Entrance fee must be paid upon arrival at the reserve. Only credit cards are accepted.

2Puerto Madryn
The Punta Loma tour includes a city tour. We start in the north area, where Madryn shows its wild side: panoramic coastal lookouts, cliffs, wide beaches, and big open views over Golfo Nuevo. It’s a great place for photos and for spotting seabirds—and depending on the season, you might even catch wildlife activity offshore. Then we move through downtown, the heart of the city: the waterfront promenade, main landmarks, and the everyday life of Madryn. Along the way, your guide shares the city’s story—its connection to the port, tourism, and the culture that shaped it—plus helpful tips on what to do, where to eat, and what not to miss. We finish in the south area, with calmer coastal scenery and quieter beaches—ideal for a relaxed stop, more photos, and soaking in the Patagonian atmosphere.
