The excursion begins in the pier of Puerto Madryn from where we leave towards Route 3 towards the natural area of Punta Tombo. It is located 180 kilometers south and you travel mostly on asphalt and a small part of a gravel road to get there. This is one of the largest and most accessible Magellanic penguin colonies on the continent.
Punta Tombo is one the unique places in Patagonia were you can walk near Penguins, here your own bus and enjoy of the company of the fantactic magellanic penguins.

We will wait for you with a GREEN FLAG and a sign that will says ARNEZ#1 or ARNEZ #3, you can walk all the way down to the end of the pier, or take the free shuttle bus. Please get off the cruise as soon as you can and meet us outside the port.

The departure time is adjusted to coincide with the cruise arrival, ensuring that we always return on time for passengers to reboard the ship. Punta Tombo is a popular spot for walking amongst literally thousands of Magellanic penguins. From September to April, these flightless birds come to those particular spots to mate and give birth, and you’ll see them eating, sleeping, mating, and caring for their young.We invite you to come and discover the biggest reserve of magellan penguins in south america.
